From Print to Pixels to Prompts: Why I Launched Coastalview Advisory

If you spend long enough inside industries being reshaped by technology, particularly those in Content, you notice familiar patterns: denial, delay, and then a scramble to survive.
I have experienced that cycle across eras: from the shift from print to digital, to the rise of global-scale digital content production, and now the emergence of GenAI and the prompt-driven model. My career has unfolded inside those transitions. In newspapers when pricing, audiences, and advertising models had to adapt to a digital world; at Madras, where we built and scaled a global operation designed around interchangeable Adobe files and broadband-enabled workflows that unlocked speed, economics, and a distributed talent model; and now, inside GenAI’s earliest stages, where the definition of content itself is changing again.
Waiting feels prudent and seems like the safe choice. But it often hands competitors time to learn faster, experiment sooner, and gain momentum that is difficult to reclaim. CVA exists to help organizations stop waiting and start moving by building a game plans that balance goals and smart risks.
GenAI isn’t just a tool – it’s the start of a new content economy
GenAI is reshaping how content is created, produced, delivered, and consumed. Costs are falling. Output is accelerating. The economics of content including how it is made, how it earns money, how it holds attention, areshifting faster than organizations are responding.
The questions that matter today
- What exactly are we selling — volume, speed, outcomes, IP, influence, results?
- What does value mean when marginal cost approaches zero?
- How should pricing, cost structures, and operating models evolve for a future arriving daily?
There is no perfect answer to any of these questions. What matters is making better decisions faster, asking the right questions early, and moving instead of waiting.
Tools don’t win. Decisions do
CVA is not selling software. There is no unicorn platform that suddenly solves everything. Results come from combining the right technology, people, workflows, economics, market context, costs, and pricing — a formula unique to every organization. CVA helps leaders unlock the formula that is right for them.
You cannot PowerPoint your way to change
CVA works across the layers where transformation happens: at the board level (investment and leadership direction), with executive teams (priorities and success definition), and within implementation teams (ensuring decisions show up in results).
Why I believe this moment is worth the work
GenAI is messy. It will disrupt. But I fundamentally believe the upside will be extraordinary for those who lean in early and move fast. I’m excited about what comes next and ready to get to work.
